On May 26th, a classmate of my daughter's was murdered while trying to aid two girls who were being verbally assaulted by a white supremacist. It took place on a Portland commuter train in broad daylight, but could have occurred anywhere in America these days. By all accounts, he was a very decent and kind boy. Taliesin's last words, as he lay dying on a sidewalk far from his family were, " Tell everyone on the train that I love them."
There are no words to speak, only actions to be taken. My resources and talents are limited. But together, my family and friends, we are going to raise money for a memorial stipend or scholarship in his name at Reed College. More details shall follow.
